Have you all seen the photos of celebs trotting around without makeup? I’m not going to front I know I’ve been there, — ugly clothes, head scarf, hiding underneath a hat barefaced, — but the difference is I don’t have cameras following me around to feel ashamed. So when I saw this on a few of my fav makeup girls I have to ask, what statement are they trying make?
Solange started it last week when she attended a gala and appeared to be dare I say…all dressed up and MAKEUP LESS. I said hold up I know you are gorgeous and all, but where are you going wearing this beautiful dress and nothing on your face?!!
I am all for a ‘no makeup’ makeup look. These women and you my LM loves are all beautiful no matter what, but this just looks unfinished… I love you Solange but you got me with this one!
More celebs makeup less and proud!
Paula Patton in this month’s issue of People Magazine. She looks gorgeous, but no makeup…
Rihanna, no makeup… but I know she doesn’t care.
What are your thoughts?
Loves, are you wearing makeup every time you leave the house? Are you bold enough to try the ‘No Makeup’ trend at public events?
Early this month LM had the great opportunity to do makeup and hair for the new and cool glossie Tween Girl Style Magazine. Myself and makeup artist Whitney Parker had a fun time on set with our beautiful teen models who were fun and excited to be apart of the magazines Bright and Colorful Fashion Issue. Stylist Tina Jackson dressed the girls in the boldest and most fun colors of the season, and amazing photographer Nicole Mitchum photographed the girls in the best outdoor light. Shot in Lakeland, Florida at the Silver Moon Drive-in theater the shoot was modern girl fun with a old an old school atmosphere. It was really hot the day of the shoot so with the makeup we focused on giving the models beautiful smooth skin and soft and girlie hairstyles.

Happy Monday LM loves, I hope everyone had a spectacular weekend! How many of you have tried tanning oils? You know the ones that help you tan faster and darker. Well I tried one over the weekend and I absolutely loved it, the brand is Australian Gold Dark Tanning Accelerator spray gel.
I must admit I am a sun bather, but I always do it safely sunscreen 30 on the face and I make sure not to stay out to long. That’s the reason why I wanted to try an accelerator formula to speed up my tanning process so I’m not in the sun baking . I purchased both the spray gel and the lotion, becasue I wasn’t sure which I’d like better but they are 8.99 each so that’s a great price for a 8 oz bottle.I started out using the spray gel. I love the smell and it absorbs into the skin quickly with a non greasy feel. I laid out for about 45 minutes and at first I didn’t notice a difference, so then I put the lotion on and went out for about 30 more minutes. When I came in after that I could definitely see the tan lines.
Overall it did give me a darker tan look to my skin, but I was looking for more of a bronze tone to my skin, with a more golden undertone. My skin did feel really smooth, but I think I’m going to use it a few more times to see if I will get that bronze sun kissed glow I’m looking for! Until Next time…Love & Lipstick!
Gorgeous garments strolled the runway last night at the first ‘Orlando Fashion Week’ presented by TMT Productions.Thursday’s event, held at The Abbey at Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando, showcased a variety of local designers. Professionals and Fashion enthusiasts enjoyed appetizers and cocktails while viewing the show, and so did we. We were impressed with the elegance and beauty of the clothing presented as well as the production of the show.
LM gives props to makeup and hairstyling. Hair was pulled back away from the face. This allowed our attention to focus on the elaborate gowns and dramatic eye makeup the models wore.
Safia Michelle caught up with friends and chatted with Zhanna Kenformer, former designer of Dancing With The Stars while at the event.
Here’s one of Zhanna Kenformer’s designs
Orlando Fashion Week was directed by Tina Rodriguez of TMT Productions. Multiple events were held Tuesday-Thursday for business owners and the Orlando community, including a Branding Workshop proceeding Thursday’s Fashion Show. At the close of the event Mrs. Rodriguez presented a check that will go toward assisting patients battling cancer.Ms.Rodriguez has such a wonderful spirit! Some of the event sponsors included, The International Academy of Design, RVL and Suite 230 Clothing.
LM is glad we were invited to the event. We look forward to seeing more from TMT! xo !
What’s the deal with Brows lately? Is it just me or are there far too many women parading around with unmanicured eyebrows? I feel some of my fellow makeup artists and I have to do double takes at untamed brows and perform cosmetic surgery before even getting to MAKEUP!! There are far too many hair removal remedies for some women to walk around with unsightly hair on their forehead! I’m guessing they got a bad wax or razor job…but despite what’s going on they MUST get it together!
Here are a few quick tips for getting your brows right during the “I’m growing them out” period…
1. Consider changing your hairstyle for a while. Try bangs that cover the forehead, especially if you were wrecked waxing. Bangs will help shield brows until you have enough hair to start over again.
2. Use a concealer to cover the hair, especially if your brow hair is light or soft. A little bit of concealer will help to camouflage (take the edge off ) of ugly brows.
3. Use a clear brow gel and a medium bristle tooth brush to comb hairs into place. Although hair may be thick, if you comb your brows and smooth them, they’ll have the appearance of looking groomed even though you’re long overdue.
