Hello Lipstick Mixtapes lovelies, Happy Holidays! I hope you are as much as I am ready to bring in 2012! 2011 has been a great year. so before we exit out of this year I’m going to tell you my top Editor picks of 2011. These things just seemed to blow up over night and I took notice, loved some and hated some but every moment counts!
Bold lipstick was and still is my #1 pick this year. From Lipstick to nail polish color took the world by storm and no one was afraid to rock it. From the runway to everyday women everywhere displayed never seen before boldness and it was definitely a GREAT look!
Kristen Stewart. I just recently became a “Twilight” fan after much cohersion but once i seen these pics of Kristen Stewart in W magazine I was all in! Bella is beautiful, and that’s more than a translation! I took a double take and now I’m hooked.
Miss Kelly Roland made a come back, and a break out and I absolutely loved seeing her everywhere! She changed her makeup, her hair, and most of all her sound she went Techno-Soul and that made my life because it’s so refreshing! I hope to see more from her in the new year and if she keeps rolling like 2011 I know her 2012 will be the business!
Ohhhhh! Katy I am about me some Katy Perry from baby you’re a FIREWORK to Teenage Dream and then she hit me with the Extraterrestrial and I just lost it! The makeup, fashion and scenery in this video is a makeup artist dream. The transformation from her everyday Lollipop loving self to this Alien Vixen was mind blowing . Big shout out to Katy Perry for showing versatility and pushing the envelope but staying true to girlie, forever loving the boys self!
Goodbye MINX, hello OPI CRACKLE nail polish! O my Goodness if I had seen one more crackle nail polish I was going to flip out! This fad which should of been short lived lasted almost all year. It was cute for maybe 3 months and then it needed to be gone, it was everywhere and on to many extra long toe nails ekkkk!
Here’s another trend I was really hoping would’ve died out by now, but it’s still going strong FALSE LASHES. Now this one is definitely a good and a bad! I’m a makeup artist so of course I love False lashes but if I have one more chick asking me do I have hair glue to reapply their malfunctioned, gnarly looking lash I’m going to flip! There are some places that are doing girls wrong with these lashes they are straight going bald on the eyes and I’m asking the question why are you going back for more and you see your lashes falling out, but nope they keep going back for more. Don’t get me wrong I love a beautiful strip and even well applied non-hair glued full beautiful lash but women if we’re going to keep this going in 2012 lets get safer about our beauty routines.
Feather Hair Extensions, please go away! nuff said…
