With 6 different designers I came up with looks that would be beautiful and effortless. I was happy to have Harriet Medrozo  assisting  she did an amazing job and kept her work area clean (10 pts) lol. The looks  needed to transition from soft, bronze, beach girl, into going out with my boyfriend i need to add a lil bit of  color  beautiful girl. We used some amazing products sent to me by Cover Girl, a skin primer, lipstains and these really smooth colorful eyeliners they worked amazing.

For the models with the darker lip, I wanted to make the look  a bit more daring/sultry the clothing was darker, yet colorful I thought a pop of deep burgundy plum on the lips( Cyber lipstick by MAC to be exact) would bring out the eyes, so not much  eye makeup would not be needed.  I used beautiful black,black liquid eyeliner, soft skintone shadows and matte cheeks,   the best mascara I’ve  ever ed used by Kiko cosmetics, perfect choices.

For hair these guys banged it out we had Abby from Alchemy hair salon ,  Sarah and Danielle of Renew Hair Salon Jesse Yager of Shag  Hair Studios… YOU BETTA WORK! I really loved the styles they did and they even threw in scarfs  and layered braids to give the looks more sophistication!

This was great fun and an amazing team of people to work with. hope to work with you all again.

Love & Lipstick

So  as well mingled our way around we stopped and said hello to the beautiful makeup artist at the Guerlain table. With our love for makeup just know we were talking and trying things out for almost 20 minutes FUN! We were amazed to find out so much information about Guerlain products I have loved Guerlain “Champs Elysees” Perfume since I was born but I had never really delved into the cosmetics line.  Well now I feel a new makeup addiction coming on. O my goodness! Ahhhhhh absolutely beautiful. Yes for those if you who don’t know Guerlain cosmetics are Luxury in the form of color. The brand has been around for 200 years  starting with perfumes. Here’s us trying on illuminating complexion beauty beads and, and the best color glosses I’ve seen in a long time. And to all my brown girls out there yes we were considered in the color development process.

As the night went on we met amazing new people. Particularly  this older and definitely wise woman that made me and Meagan almost cry she told us we can do absolutely anything we want to  in life! She came to America with 5 US dollars from  Poland and was a scientist  now she is enjoying life to the fullest. I know that’s right, we love insightful people.

Sunday Night The Goddiss Boutique of Apopka , Florida introduced its guest  to Swag at it’s finest, a collection of beautiful garments inspired by summertime were on the runway. Everything was Sexy, fashion forward and absolutely beautiful! All things a true Goddiss is, I had so much fun at the show.

The two sisters that own the boutique are just amazing, hard working  and so beautiful! The crowd enjoyed the show, ladies were shopping, mingling, exchanging hair and makeup stories it was definitely a Goddiss GLAM Event. So I am happy to say we have an exclusive interview with  magazine Editor in Cheif Hugette Montesinos. I picked her brain so much  “hehe”  : ) as she would say we’re going to do a two part post . I wanted to know, and I know you do to so read our interview below  and click DISfunkshion to check out the magz website.

LM: So Miss Hugette DISfunkshion magazine why the name DISfunkshion?

Hugette: Well The word DIS means woman or lady, FUNK for the funky art and SHION
for fashion. But also the word disfunkshion is something that I think many
of us can relate to. We are all a bit disfunkshional, but even in that we
can find beauty. And where we are disfunkshional, God brings perfection!

LM: How has the process been for developing this great magazine and how long
has DISfunkshion been in publication?

Hugette: It’s been a long and hard-working road, but we’ve been publishing for 2
years and we’’ve been national for 1 year!

LM: What I noticed first and foremost about Disfunkshion magazine was the
highly inspirational message and not just the casual “when you smile the
whole world smiles with you” sort of inspiration Your inspirational message reads, “put
on new wine skins”, and verses like Psalms 139 with a prayer to match
almost like a purse and shoe combo, then you flip the page and it’s
major editorial images Why this format is this a piece of you?

Hugette: This is definitely a piece of me and the way my brain works! Hehe! I just
have fun with the passion that God has placed in my heart! But I
ABSOLUTELY feel that this is what I was called to do. In other words, it’s
my ministry! =)

So  I got a new addiction anyone who knows me,  like know me, knows I like sweets so when our web designer Desirai was telling us about Johnny Cupcakes my mind went into food mode  : ) but to my surprise and anybody else who  doesn’t know about this dude you will not be gaining weight due to this sweetness.

In his nation wide suitcase tour Mr. Johnny Cupcakes hit up the ” O” such a rarity to see coolness in this form in Orlando it was refreshing. Hailing from Boston and a couple of truck-stops in between this cute lil lil stopped thru Bold Hype Art gallery Friday nite to hustle a few t-shirts and chat it up with his cult following  of fans I love  a good cult! It was so cool, loved  the shirts, the t-shirt  I liked most  was with the fat kid on the front I call him BABY FAT STACKS!  so cute but it wasn’t there so I got a sticker a few pins and a autograph thank you Mr. Cupcakes!

This week I had the best job to date it was with two famous athletes, who shall remain unnamed unless your a FAN on our Face Book page click the button to your right : ). Can I tell you awesome working with them, but guys do not and I repeat DO NOT like  makeup! Unless he’s  ya boy

from the  ATL who is all about a FULL FACE. Most normal guys want to know what the makeup artist is putting on them  and why we’re putting it there. They are in and out there in 15-to 20 flat and that’s including hair, if he’s not a DIVO . But what is important to them is that they look like themselves

and  100% MATTE, no shine baby and even if they don’t care the director will yell, MAKEUP  He’s SHINING  underneath the lights, that are by the way 1,000 volts ! So here are a few Essentials for your kit when ON SET WITH THE GUYS. First moisturizer, most guy’s have great skin but sometimes they  can be dehydrated so have one that is full of essential vitamins and minerals  but absorbs quickly into the skin (they don’t like to sit). Second a great under eye concealer, to cover those I was up late last night because I don’t care about no photo shoot, this is so important this will probably be the most makeup you will put on them why because they need to look  fresh and awake this perks them up how lipstick perks up a woman’s overall look. Then you want to have a MATTE texture creme or serum this  is going to take away all the HOT SPOTS that tend to get shiny quick under the lights. Typically I only do the T-zone but on set I do ALL OVER the face and if he has no hair the top of the head as well.

Overall the most I needed to do on this shoot was go in for touch-up’s with a velvety finishing foundations,   called Plush created by the head makeup-artist I was assisting it was awesome, It comes in full line of colors and the texture was so smooth it never looked cakey, which is very important, because it’ll start to show texture.
