Makeup Looks from ‘Act Like a Lady Think Like a Man’

The now multimillion dollar film, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, hit theaters this weekend and it is funny! I loved the characters, I felt like I knew each of them. Kevin Hart is ridiculously funny! He will have you cracking up the entire film. Oh! Let’s not forget about the sexy Micheal Ealy, can you say DELICIOUS? (couldn’t get enough of him). But what stood out to me more than anything was the makeup! Wow, the ladies in the movie look great!

Especially my favorite girl, Meagan Good. She looks amazing in the film. I loved that she rocked one of the newest trends in makeup and one of my favs in the movie, silver eyeliner on the inner corner of the eyes, with a neutral lid color and nude lip. So glamorous, yet edgy!

In the image below, I love the green eyeshadow she’s wearing. It’s definitely a pretty look for brown eyed girls. The green makes her eyes pop! And her brows are serious aren’t they? She has the best brows ever! Always PERFECT.

Also I loved actress Regina Hall’s look. Her skin was luminous throughout the movie. So glowy and dewy, she just looked fresh. The look was perfect for her character. Easy beauty for the woman with kids, not a lot of time to spare, but wants to look fresh. Her hair was long and straight, which I loved. Very sleek, showing off her stunning facial features! She seriously made me want to get a new hairstyle!

Don’t know how much I’ll have to spend to get this kind of hair, but with the look of it, I’m sure it’s worth the money!

Do you like my makeup?

Happy Hump Day LM Loves!

Today I’m coming to you with the question, how would you feel if someone told you they didn’t like your makeup? As a Makeup Artist many people will ask me if I like their makeup, and I will give my honest opinion when asked. (However there is a difference between doing makeup well, and liking/disliking a look. I share this with the people who ask me to critic their makeup). But I would never take it upon myself to go up to someone and say I don’t like your makeup #RUDE. Well, I had the awesome experience of having someone come to me and say they didn’t like a particular color I was wearing. It caught me by surprise :/

Needless to say I didn’t ask this person for their opinion. As a matter of fact I was minding my own business, so I don’t know where this person came from…

I think it’s really important as people to express our own creativity. It’s also important to respect the choices of others, (even if we can’t see ourselves doing whatever the God-for- bidden thing the other person is doing!)

In this case I mean it’s only makeup.

Love it or Hate it, it’s artistic expression.

So for the nice lady who openly shared her opinion on my look, I said to her: “I appreciate your opinion, we all have them. But I love what I’m wearing and I think I’ll keep wearing it! Have a Nice Day!”

Kim Kardashian lands another top cover!

Our girl Kim Kardashian has done it again, she’s landed her latest cover and it’s not the one you recently seen on US magazine!

No she has landed the coveted cover of the new makeup book FACE to FACE by Scott Barnes celebrity makeup artist. Scott is known to BEAT A FACE, and here Kim is hot, with her signature smokey eye, and with Scott’s signature touch she just looks great! This is why I love makeup! Scott Barnes has been in the business a long time well over 15 years, so you know he’s a maestro in the game #GLAMTASTIC!

Scott’s last book had the ever glamorous Jennifer Lopez on the cover and it was natural beauty to the max! The cover shot was overall beauty makeup , with major highlighting and contouring and inside were numerous tips and tricks on the art of transformation. I will for sure be picking up my copy of the book which comes out early September and I hope to find more professional makeup artist secrets to continue to perfect my craft!

LM does makeup for fashion at the University of Central Florida!

Lipstick Mixtapes wants to send a thanks to the Multi-Cultural Organization at the University of Central Florida. LM was backstage along with Signatures of Joi painting faces for models from India, Philippines, Nigeria, and Paris to name a few. We had a great time at the fashion show the models looked great, the clothes were colorful and stunning and I the best time doing makeup for what was a colorful and diverse show!
