LM attends Premiere Orlando Beauty Show!

Hi Loves hope your Tuesday is jumping off to a perfect start.

Over the weekend LM had plenty going on from the Beauty Essentials Workshop to the huge Premiere Orlando Beauty Show. First I want to thank all of you for your support of the Beauty Essentials Workshop and to those that missed it, you don’t want to miss the next one!

So now on to the Premiere Orlando Beauty Show! As mentioned, LM was invited to attend this BIG industry event, and it was great! (Peep the media pass.) Over the three days of the event I got the chance to meet a ton of wonderful Hairstylists and even got to interview top Hairmasters and Makeup Artists in the Industry. The Premiere Beauty Show comes to Orlando once a year and if you are in the Makeup or Hair industry this is NOT the show you want to miss!

To start things off, LM attended a Highlight and Contour Workshop taught by the Phenomenal Professional MUA, Danessa Myricks.

If you don’t know who Danessa Myricks is, where have you been?….Danessa is an established mua that taught herself the skills to reach the top. Danessa has painted the faces of Artists from Jive, Arista and Motown Records including Madonna, Brittney Spears, Chris Brown, Mary Mary, Enrique Iglesias and MORE! Danessa is a great mua and she really took the time to break down the best way to highlight and contour a face during her class. Danessa covered loads of material regarding the texture of products, the contrast needed in highlighting and contouring, as well as how reflective light plays a big role. She also shared with us a few great general Makeup tips I want to share with you Loves:

1.Acknowledging that being a great MUA isn’t about buying or racking up on ALL Makeup products that you see other MUAs have in their kit. It’s about finding products that work, and working those products! Price vs. Performance.

2. The success to having great Makeup is understanding texture and how a product should work.

3. Texture [of products] combined with technique will help you achieve that flawless look.

*Most of all Danessa explained that as Artists we must transform our clients. When clients get up from our chair they should feel changed!–Amen!

Danessa is the Founder of ‘I Make You Beautiful‘ and has a series of training DVDs that help aspiring muas, established muas and salon owners with the fundamentals of beauty, to in-depth Highlighting and Contouring tutorials.

Danessa also talked about working with different textures in order to get a better blend of makeup and the importance of stepping out of your routines. Check out my interview below with more from Danessa!
