As many of you know we were published for the 2nd time in Brink Magazine for their May issue (INSERT A THOUSAND ‘!’)

We are so happy and proud of ourselves and what LM has been able to accomplish in under a year!  I have attached several behind the scenes pix of our 2 day fashion shoot and the beauty images also taken. These photos didn’t run in the May issue for everyone else, so consider yourself a true insider! You’re so awesome!

We specifically shot this with the intention of showing beauty of all varieties. During the shoot we had the models tell what they found beautiful about another model of a different ethnicity. Women should be able to open any fashion magazine and be able to identify with the faces they see… even if we aren’t all 5’10″. After all, who is buying them??…

 I met her at work surprisingly, I looked up and she was standing right in front of me looking for her products on the wall…

 Dressed in a dope a@! gray sweat suit, sneakers, and glasses she was so down to earth. Her smile was huge as I shreeked “TRINA?!?!?!” ( Yes, I’m a big dork but I love her) and she gave me hugs upon hugs, no diva, no extraness… she looked like she was about as chill as the diamonds on her fingers and wrists (done just right ).  I love her more now then I ever did before!

GET HER LOOK: Lots of M.A.C. Golden bronze loose powder, Angel lipstick with gloss, some frosty ass eyeshadow (paired with a matte one too, don’t trip), your best lace front and DON’T forget your diamonds!

Is this how we’re representing women now???

Here’s another question: Is this what YOU look like?

These pictures are from the new issue of Love Magazine, they are suppose to be the most beautiful women in the world and the most perfect bodies in the world. **Laughing on the inside** Get outta here. I can’t imagine how this is perfection and they all look the same. Shouldn’t we be celebrating perfection in women that actually exists? You can’t say that a supermodel, or a celebrity for that matter, has the most perfect body in the world when its their JOB to maintain a certain look. “Perfection” is relative anyway because if I say that my body and my look is perfect for me then that’s IT, that also means that its gonna be perfect for you too.

The editor of Love Magazine, Katie Brand said, “it was interesting studying them all in the same pose”…. **Hand goes up in the classroom** These pictures look like they should read, “I’D RATHER GO NAKED THAN WEAR FUR”, otherwise what then is the purpose of these images? Celebrating beauty? OK, maybe IF that’s your intention but here they’re just being depicted as perfect. Interesting? No. Beautiful? YES (I’m not a hater).  Models? YES…. but what else are they suppose to look like???

Beauty is INTERESTING and MYSTERIOUS… beauty is VARIETY and WARMTH… and beauty isn’t always PERFECT….

… but hey, maybe that’s just MY house…

I’ll tell you why I’m mad!!!” Have we really become a nation of people so self absorbed and slaves to vanity that we will do the most bizarre things to ourselves in order to stay young??? I had the most awesome experience recently… one that will stay with me and put a whole lot of things into perspective. I was blessed enough to meet a 104 yr old woman, I found her so beautiful and I was so curious about her life. REALITY CHECK! At the end of the day, if we are blessed enough to even make it on this earth that long, this is our fate…. to grow old with wisdom having lived a full lifetime. So why are we doing all these things trying to stay young and mutilating ourselves when we can’t go against father time? What happened to growing old with the face that God gave us? Shoot… we SHOULD be focusing on making sure we have people loving enough to take care of us at that age and not send us off to the old folks home…

*OK I’M BREATHING AGAIN, MY BLOOD PRESSURE HAS STABILIZED AND STEAM IS NO LONGER FUMING OUT OF MY EARS*
