So it’s February and for the next 13 days people are going to be trying to figure out what to do for Valentines day. Well
LM has put a list of events together for you. If your single, in a relationship we got your month of Feb covered.
First kicking off is the “Love Exist” fashion Show at Vintage Club 2/3/10. Come out and get a dose of Romance in your life with fashions inspired by what else love.$10 cover, proceeds will go to the non-profit organization TWLOHA. This will kick of off a great month of giving love to others by supporting this show doing what we all love enjoying fashion!
Beyond the Bed I’m More Than A Fling is back! Just in time for V-Day nuff said. Feb 4,2010 at the Archilles Art Cafe. Come out to listen and discuss relationships and of course LOVE.
Friday night 2/5/10 is First Friday Live with the Grammy nominated Melanie Fiona, come out chill see and be seen Adult style with Orlando’s beautiful crowd at Cheyenne Saloon downtown Orlando.
Omg this one I am feeling the “Tell Her She’s Beautiful” event and rally February 11-14. Any and everybody will be at this one because it’s all over the World I like that! This is a rally to let women all over the world know they are beautiful and don’t need to put unnecessary standards of beauty on themselves due to the media. Everyone please support this, we as MUA know better than anyone the insecurities and self-esteem issues women have, but an event like this and everyday showing of LOVE for who God made you, will make this an event to remember!
Blissful Lotus Romance Boutique presents “Change Your Sheets, Change Your Life” a free event 2/11/10 in the Lake Ivanhoe area of Orlando. This is a beautiful boutique with charming husband and wife owner who will offer tips on adding Love and Spice to your life.
Drum Roll please this one I am sooooo looking forward to and it’s Nude Nite Orlando. I have attended this event for the last two years and all I can say is A-MAz-ing! Orlando and National artist come out and take art form to a whole nother level! It’s SEXY, it’s FUN, and it’s where you need to be if you don’t go anywhere else I tell you this month. The nakednes starts February 11th and ends the 13th yes it’s a quickie! but you have to make the time to come out. LEAVE the KIDS at HOME! come out have some fun!

LOL, I’d consider myself a smart woman but this one went completely over my head and I have to give credit to Safia Michelle for making me aware, it made total sense so I will go ahead and call myself out.
Did anyone notice the obvious symbolic elements in the movie “Avatar” to African and African American people? Shes like “Meagan how could you not see that?” Mind you this is my 3rd time seeing it and her 1st. I found a new love in it. Think about it… they’re braids and beads, they’re tribe and rituals, they’re noses and strong eyes, they’re dialogue they’re jungle… they’re aggressiveness while still suggesting romance, THAT WACK LINE ABOUT THE “BLUE MONKEYS” (GRRR BY THE WAY)… THINK ABOUT IT. Suddenly Africa is everywhere.
Of course it would go as no surprise with the movie grossing so much money and being so full of color and life that the fashion world get involved.
Don’t be surprised to find more African elements in your favorite designers collections coming Spring and Fall 2010. Bolder printed jumpsuits, more wood inspired jewels, etc… you get my drift.

Lipstick Mixtapes is so excited about this and we want all our supporters to come out and join this wonderful event The E.L.L.A. Music Fest is going on this weekend October 1-4th. E.L.L.A standing for ELEVATE, LISTEN, LOVE, APPRECIATE
is “A Musical Celebration of the Florida Female Artist,” it is put on to showcase to the people of Orlando the wonderful and extremely talented women that grace our fine city and state. Its purpose is to help elevate the inner spirit of all artists who have not yet heeded the call to create; to support and listen to what we, as a community of believers and communicators, have to say; to love one another, and to help spread that love beyond the walls of our inner self; and to appreciate, and to show our appreciation of what has come from our home, before it goes away and never comes back. We believe that Florida has some of the strongest and most talented women in the world, and they deserve to be heard, viewed, and celebrated. By creating this festival, we want to make sure that they are.” E.L.L.A. organizers
E.L.L.A will kick off Thursday @ 6 p.m. with a block party at the Artzy Mama Studio downtown.
Friday music and vendors. Saturday will be all day events and VIP-after party,and Sunday the Best of E.L.L.A “RISING”.
Wow we’re I’m so excited about this we had the great opportunity to meet one of the organizers of this event at the Global Peace Film Festival Mr. Robert Johnson, it makes me so happy and proud that the arts and visions of Florida’s female artist are being celebrated in such an inspiring and energetic way.
