So here is the rest of the interview with Editor -in -Chief of DISfunkshion magazine
As an Editor and Chief what do you look for when choosing what to put in
your magazine?
It just has to move me! I know immediately when I look at something if
its going in the next issue!
Where would you like to see Disfunksion magazine go in terms of is it the
next Zink, W, or Vogue?
I think its its own monster. I would like to be the all-in-one
publication for young women!
Who are you inspirations? Jesus, My mother and Lenny Kravitz.
When are we going to see collaboration with Disfunksion and Lipstick
Mixtapes? As soon as Safi says so! Hehe!

this interview. I think the magazine is great it has a great message and

Is this how we’re representing women now???
Here’s another question: Is this what YOU look like?
These pictures are from the new issue of Love Magazine, they are suppose to be the most beautiful women in the world and the most perfect bodies in the world. **Laughing on the inside** Get outta here. I can’t imagine how this is perfection and they all look the same. Shouldn’t we be celebrating perfection in women that actually exists? You can’t say that a supermodel, or a celebrity for that matter, has the most perfect body in the world when its their JOB to maintain a certain look. “Perfection” is relative anyway because if I say that my body and my look is perfect for me then that’s IT, that also means that its gonna be perfect for you too.
The editor of Love Magazine, Katie Brand said, “it was interesting studying them all in the same pose”…. **Hand goes up in the classroom** These pictures look like they should read, “I’D RATHER GO NAKED THAN WEAR FUR”, otherwise what then is the purpose of these images? Celebrating beauty? OK, maybe IF that’s your intention but here they’re just being depicted as perfect. Interesting? No. Beautiful? YES (I’m not a hater). Models? YES…. but what else are they suppose to look like???
Beauty is INTERESTING and MYSTERIOUS… beauty is VARIETY and WARMTH… and beauty isn’t always PERFECT….
… but hey, maybe that’s just MY house…

Ok, so I knew I was possible… and I knew these women deserved to be represented in the world of fashion, I just wasn’t sure when it would happen! But without further adieu here we have V Magazine giving applause to Plus size women!! How freggin awesome is that?!!?! I find this so major because its V Mag and they’re giving you high fashion!… no pun intended but its not uncommon to see a fashion spread with larger women in smaller publications on how to “dress for your body type” (whomp whomp) we’ve seen that all before, but this here… this is something new. I still think this country (sorry) world (smiles) has a long way to go but this is a healthy step… Keep up the good work V! COMING NEXT… COVERS!!!
Look out for this Febuary issue… we all know at the end of the day its about dollars and cents so show love! Lets help to inspire a change is this world, couldn’t this be our future daughters anyway?
