Conversations with Professional MUA’s Chell Love & James Vincent

What’s up LM loves! Hope your day is beautiful and busy. I’m getting caught up from a hetic weekend but I want to make sure I share with you all the creativity and craziness from Orlando Premiere Beauty show. I’m so thankful that I was able to talk with major players in our  industry that are setting trends and changing lives. I had my own Aha moment when I spoke with  2 amazing MUA’s Chell Love &  James Vincent !  Chell Love  is the soft spoken and incredibly talented makeup artist behind the looks that were created for Ted Gibson’s main stage performance. From the moment the models walked the stage I was in awe of the dramatic and colorful  makeup looks.  I had to find out more about  the person behind the art so I got to Chell backstage and talked to her about stepping out of routines and being inspired.

Here’s the interview:

Safia Michelle- How do you get in a zone in order to get to the place to create?

Chell-I”m always in a zone, I like to meet with the designers to know what they’re coming up with.

Safia Michelle- Being a visionary how do you break out of routines in order to see new ideas and

concepts come to life?

Chell- I get a vision based on the concept. I never like to plagiarize, I like to put my own spin on things. If I get stuck in a place I stop myself and walk away or I start working on another area, to get my motors running again then I’ll go back to what I was working on before. I never like to push it threw, never force it threw! Step away for awhile and come back to it!

Safia Michelle What’s it like to work with Ted Gibson?

Chell- He inspired me so much, so encouraging, and caring. I understand why his staff love working for him so much. I saw his compassion for people as well as his staff and it brought tears to my eyes. One minute I was taking a picture with him last year and this year I’m keying his show. God is good!

To wrap the Premiere Orlando  Beauty Show, I could not  leave without speaking with industry favorite Makeup Artist, James Vincent. I met James a few years ago when I attended the Makeup Show NYC. James is an incredible artist who is full of the truth and he’s funny as heck! If you go to one of his classes or workshops be ready to learn and laugh! He’s a lot of fun, but  also serious when it comes to education and getting your business right when working freelance in this industry.

P.S …In case you didn’t know the  highly anticipated Makeup Show Orlando,  is coming November 4 &  5  2012 and I don’t know about you,  but I’m ready to learn, inspire and connect.

LM Interviews Celebrity Hairstylist Ted Gibson

I am still on my Orlando Premiere Beauty show high and I just can’t come down! I have more interviews for my Loves today, and this one is with THEE Ted Gibson.  If you haven’t heard of Ted, let me inform you. He is one of the MOST sought after hairstylists in the fashion and entertainment industry. His client list reads like  movie credits from Anne Hathaway, Debra Messing, Angelina Jolie, Ashley Greene, Joy Bryant, Zoe Saldana, Emma Watson, Gabrielle Union and many more. To top it off  his ‘keep it real factor’ is refreshing and 100% official , I call him the Oprah Winfrey of hairstyling! Talk about changing lives, I saw him do it with my own eyes. His work has appeared in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, Vanity Fair, People StyleWatch, W, and Allure. Also backstage at runway shows such as Chanel, Prada, and Dolce & Gabbana. He is all over the world  sharing his love for hair  and empowering people to feel and look great. Peep the interview for all the details!
